2005 yamaha roadstar

Hi everyone. Been reading on this site for years now, but never posted stuff. Anyhow, im finaly trying my hand at showing some of my work. Im working on some real world modeling, and what better place to start then the object I know better than anything else?, my motorcycle. Im modelling an high detailed 2005 Yamaha Roadstar. Ive aparently hit a tiny snag with meshsmooth that is driving me nuts! I cannot seem to find any tutorials on how to control meshsmooth, certainly not the problem Im having. I believe its due to my really retarded way of having modeled the fenders. I could explain it all day, but I believe images are a lot easier to communicate my frustrations. Im still in the modeling phase, but I have been playing with textures and materials here and there. Feel free to coment on my progress thus far. The fender closeups should show the problem quite apparently. Any help and comments welcome.

Nice work as far i can see! I am looking forward for that because i just like those types of bikes!

that kind of error at your back of the bke perhaps you should use smooth groups to make it appear rounder.

"Smoothing groups?" - I believe I tried that before, but the effects remain the same. Is that like applying different levels of meshsmooth to different selections? If so, that doesnt seem like it would fix the problem. I tried something similar with meshselect, and all that happened was that the fender started looking odd and distorted. Are smoothing groups more powerfull that what I think???

It is my theory that the distortion is created by meshmooth trying to smooth out the curve as well as the bottom lip of the fender. However, I have been unable to tell it to ignore the bottom lip. Has anyone else out here had a similar problem?

That doesn't really get the right feel. The problem is not the smooth modifier. The problem is stopping meshsmooth from smoothing out the edges of the fender, and hence distorting the ends. The entire fender needs to be smooth, not just a little piece of it.
