too late...

i have just read about the last speed-modeling-challenge, the phone-booth.

my phonebooth is my last artwork, finished yesterday.

modleing, texturing, lighting in c4d, postwork in PS. the car is a freedownload, but ist was soooo low-poly, that i had too pimp it a "little"

i hope you like it. please lots of c&c

You should give a try at the speed modelling challenge!! It looks awesome! Can we have a wire from the scene?

i don'T have a wire yet, but i will give you two clays. two, because the picture was rendered in two steps:

1. the pickup and the sign with the backdrop
2. tho phone-booth with the result of step 1

i had to do this, because of some lightproblems (the shadows of the pickup didn't want to match to those of the phonebooth, i don't know why...). btw: 1 keylight (the sun) and 31 fill lights (lightdome, done by the LUMEN-lite plugin)

here they are:

So you used some kind of alpha channel to make the window's transparency? then, Blured a bit the background and composited all in PS ?

no...,
i put the pickup and the motel-sign into the scene (a clean background photo of a road, with some rocks and sand (wip1-low.jpg without the clays), i renderd the scene with DOF...
than i replaced the clean backgroundpicture with the rendering (the environment with car and sign), made the phone booth visible, tweaked the light and rendered the scene without DOF...

the windows is a normal glass material with some dirt..

than some usual postwork in photoshop
