![]() _PinBall Machine_ The idea, Ok, we’ve done a few character base animations and now it’s time to change it up just a little bit. The idea is to animate the ball and whatever else you want to, that you would see in a pinball machine. You can do as little as you want, or as much as you want, just make this one fun, so you get it done. What I want to see is simple, the ball needs to start somewhere and have a reason for starting, it needs to hit/bounce of off at least 3 other objects, and last but not least, the ball needs to come to rest. If you can, try making it so it loops. Lets be as creative as we can with this one. If you want, add music. Don’t make this harder than it sounds. If you have a question about anything, ask it. I don’t want people animating for a week and a half to find out what they are doing is wrong. _Rules_ - The due date is September 9th, a Saturday 11pm(GMT). Voting will be on that Sunday. Post your final entry’s in the Final Entry Thread.- Minimum animation: your animation needs to be at least 4 seconds. - Recommended screen resolution in 320x240 (you can do 640x480 if you want, but why would you). - You can post W.I.P.s but you are only allowed one complete entry. That link is also final. You can and should post your wip’s to get help. - Websites where you post your finals is up to you. - Remember, it's about animation, use your time for animation, not to get the best render possible, unless you can afford it. - Use of plug-ins not allowed. Must be key framed (hand animated) - Try to use Quicktime or Divx if possible. - You must post a render of some sort with your final entry post; also include a screen grab with key frames. No CHEATING. - Voting will be as follows - Pick your favorite animation. You will get to pick your favorite. At the end of the polling, whoever gets the most votes wins. Add any crits of final entries in the final entries thread. Good luck! BiG ToE

hmmm - the thing is, we have to build a pinball machine first, I guess I'll try a 60's machine - basic - basic - basic
Do we have to program (I just mean the rolling value/constraint) the ball ourselves or may we use a script from highend3d? D,

I changed it for Martimus, you said we had did too many character based comps, so I thought why not object based.
Diabolos: make the machine as basic as you can, doesn't have to have lights or spinning parts. As for scripts for the rotation, try doing it by hand first, let's see what other people get, then I will decide. |

if you guys don't like this one, I can pause the comp, then everyone can toss out some ideas, then when we find one everybody likes, start up again.

Hmm...this one seems interesting. I was kinda hoping for a char. anim. comp. (C.A.C.! :P) since I missed out on the last 2 or 3, but this one seems like it could be promising. Hmm...I will try and think up of something creative. :P

sorry no gravity, the ball needs to roll down because you keyframed it to.
Now, everybody get back to work. I might try this one too. I was my idea. Oh, before I forget, the idea thread has died, something breath(post) some life into it. |

looks good. Even if you don't finish or like this animation, the model looks good.

BiGToE | martimus - thanks - I'll definitely get it done on time (textured, animated, rendered). I guess it'll be the only entry, then I'll make a finished shot for the finished 3d art forum - it won't go to waste.
D,
