Human skin

Does anyone know a good tut for painting a photorealistic human skin texture?
Not a shader like Stahlberg's (Kuman, when you going to post your max translation ) but the actual texture and preferably brush stroke by brush stroke.

I mean face not skin really, though a face does have skin of course...

Hmm... no replies. Well, I don't know.

What was that you were saying about Stahlberg using a shader?

I've found Bill Flemming's book "3D Texture workshop - painting hollywood creature textures vol1, the making of freaky frank" to be a great tutorial for painting faces from scratch. The book takes you through the process he uses to pain a frankenstein's monster head, but with a little reading between the lines you could apply it to a normal human head. Not free, but defintely worthy of any 3d artists bookshelf imo.
(oh btw I have nothing to do with Bill or the book, I just thought it was good.)
