Plane modelling
I looked at the Joan arc tutorial, and some more tutorials that included planes with a picture on it, and then model of it, but it isnt accurate, cause when i trace the foot, and then move the camera to the left, it doenst fit anymore

you need two images of your foot, one as a front view and then the side view. You apply these images as textures to the planes in the right view, make sure they line up right by looking at then in the perspective view. When everything is lined up, you should be ready to go.

the planes in the view are going to move when you move the view.
If you want everything to stay still, you will have to do it threw a static view port, like front, left, right, back, top. |

if all your image planes are lined up, right click on them go to properties, look for and check, freeze and then uncheck show frozen in grey. That will keep the planes from being clickable. Then when you start modeling, just stay in the front, side and top views, if you match the view, you should be ok.

Looks like you're using the software renderer for viewports.
Right click on the viewport's name and check "Texture correction" or Go to: Customize > Preferences > Viewports > Choose driver > Direct3D |

i made it 3D viewport like you said, but it doesnt work, but i think u guys dont get wath i say, ill speak some clearder
I make the 3 planes with the sizes of the pictures then i align them so that they match, i start modeling I put the camera above the plane that views the top i create a box and add segments to it. I then move the vertexen to align them to the plane's reference. Then i move the camera so that it aligns to the plane that views the left but then, the box i modelled, is not on the correct place according to the plane where the top is on, and then i have to move it, but then it isnt aligned to the plane where the left is on |

well in that case your blueprints aren't aligned with each other
![]() You have to make sure, the blueprints are in fact accurate (they might not always be) and that the planes' sizes are proportional to the blueprint image sizes. |

go to www.3dbuzz.com. they have a lot of tutorials and in one of them they are modeling an alien. in that modeling tutorial of the alien they show you how to align the plane and images and also how to fix them with photoshop so they line up better. it used to be easy over there to get the tutorials but i think they put up some restrictions to get them now(like being more involved in the forum or something like that).
its in the 3ds max vtm issue 4 in the 3dsmax section of the video training section and the title is image planes. Last edited by steve69; 11-10-2006 at 03:46 PM.. |
