I know. I love it now, and will be using it now for my music for probably a very long time. I'm having it on Quickmix with around 5 artists picking from genomes. Its amazing!
Thanks so much Freespace ![]() EDIT: I just wish I was from the US. Its not legal for me to be using it... though in firefox it doesn't ask for a login, but in IE it does... Strange.

I didn't notice this thread until now, but i've been a constant Pandora user for about 6 months now, and I think it's the most genius invention that the internet have given us. I have a very unusual musical taste and Pandora saved my skin.

Yeah, I wish I could actually use it legally since we have different laws
It sucks I'm in the UK.I doubt it'll ever become legal here either, but heres hoping.

Something to do with streaming of music of copyrighted material.
Quite alot of stuff like that is illiegal here, like MTV's videos for example as it locks us out. That said, I guess its just a law they need to change, rather than something thats deadly illegial... That Pandora is only available in the US for that reason. But, I've looked on net, and it seems to accept any 5 number US code, yet, I wouldn't risk doing that incase they come onto me.

Yep, hands down, it's the best invention internet has offered us since wikipedia.
![]() I've been listening to pandora for about a year. Same as Ilkejav - it saved my butt. I've found so many artists I've never heard of before, which did result in breaking my piggy bank and buying heluvalot of records... Kage: Look at the bright side - bbc streaming content isn't available outsite of UK. ![]() Pandora doesn't have the required rights to broadcast in other countries outside US (they say they're working on it, though), it's not the case of a law that has to be changed (which would never happen), so they must do something to not make it directly available to other countries, otherwise they'll get legal action against them - so they chose ZIP verification... I'd say they aren't trying too hard. Unlike bbc, who ban all foreign ISPs to save bandwidth. Unlike downloading warez, I don't see how listening to Pandora is hurting anyone. It sure benefits the artists. I doubt anyone would start coming after foreign Pandora users, of which there are millions. The internet has much bigger threats than that, like the p2p networks. =/ That said - let's not turn this thread into another legal debate. |

Yeah, i know. Sorry
![]() Its an excellent service though. Hopefully they'll get the rights to play in the UK and other countries too soon. It'll be kewl if this service could branch out to MP3 players. I'd buy an MP3 specifically if it could play through Pandora with all the options to select if you like a song or not, with a small hard drive for your own songs too.

Yeah, that's a great ideea, Kage. Pandora could totally branch out this way into the portable media market. There could be the Pandora Player, or just P Player, instead of Mp3 Player, for a marketing twist.

Seeing as internet bandwidth on cell phones isn't exactly cheap (atleast over here), imagine the WAP bill for such a device...

I'm talking in the following years... Cellphones online will become more mainstream, new tech will apear and become high-end, bandwidth will be cheaper and more affordable. Also, the P Player will be a luxury for rich people, just like owning 47 Porches is a luxury these days ( I'm talking about you, Jerry Seinfeld, you dog you
)
