Thumbs up Big Huge Games seeks ARTISTS

Big Huge Games, developer of the soon to be released RTS "Rise of Nations", published by Microsoft, is looking for 3D artists to join our team. The eagerly anticipated "Rise of Nations" has been included in both GameSpot's Editors' Top Games at E3 award and PC Gamer's Top Ten Games of 2003.

-----------------------------------------------
" ...you might find yourself staring at the impressive artwork - the unique styles of the various ages and the attention to detail looks dead set amazing."
- Gameplanet
"Throw in superb 3D graphics & an excellent soundtrack and you have what I am sure, is going to be THE RTS game of the year."
- Strategy Informer
"To say I'm excited about Rise of Nations is an understatement: right now it's at the top of my must-have RTS list."
- PC Gamer, March, 2003
"From the depths of Big Huge Games comes what could be the most promising RTS PC game of 2003, Rise of Nations."
- 3D Avenue

The ideal candidate will possess:

· Fluency in 3D Studio Max, Character Studio and Photoshop.
· Excellent lo-poly modeling, animation and texture mapping skills
· A strong interest in RTS Games
· Strong communication skills and the desire to work in a collaborative atmosphere
· The drive and dedication it takes to produce a great game

BHG_dave you might want to get in contact with r13 over at polycount. He often posts when a company is hireing on the front page.

Sniper- this is a great place to post stuff like this. He is looking for low poly artists.

its not likely they're gonna find anyone here that fills their criteria or whatever.

Also:

Snipermaster- look at your reply to this thread. The first reply to a guy who just did his first post. Kind of makes us look like a hostile community. I for one think he posted in the best place at Threedy for a game related topic. As X5 said you never know who lurks, someone might see BHG_dave's request as a job opportunity. As someone who has been here for a long while now you should know you represent the 3DT community. Think before you post.

Guiberu- Thumper once said "If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all." Your comment was unneeded. It did not help BHG_dave in any way, shape or form. You can keep your little vendetta against Microsoft to yourself because frankly we don't care that you hate them. Being a smart ass to dave was pointless. Think before you post.

BHG_dave- I hope you will look around the forums and see that its full of nice people. Don't let this spoil your view of us. Best of luck on your search for an artist.

SniperMaster and Guiberu --> You shouldn't base everyone on your inadequate art experience and age. Not everyone here are like you two. There are some really talented people floating around these boards (exspecially in the contest section).

Ok, it's quite simple really, if you don't have anything useful to say, I recommend you don't say anything. Guiberu, SniperMaster if you look at a thread where someone is asking a question or proposing something and it doesn't apply to you, or you don't know anything about it, please move along to another thread, and save the smart wise-cracks. As you can see, this thread is a good example where you both typed without really thinking. There are a lot of people on these forums who, A: could apply to this job, and B: are qualified for it. I suspect a lot of people would be glad to be offered an opportunity like this.

i think it's pretty cool that game development agencies show interest at some of threedy's great 3d artists. if i would be better at modelling and if i would be a RTS game fan and if i wouldn't live in Holland, i might give it a shot

down with microsoft, burn city hall, microsoft must go down. Die microsoft, and ya. ummMMMmmmmMMMMmmm...
grow up my ass!

seriously though microsoft's domination in the industry is too great, they have os, they have a lot of the buiness programs, they have a lot of games. What's next, cad? I mean seriously microsoft is a trust, as much carnigie steel, or rockafeller's oil. Where's roosevelt when you need him?
