Comp 17 ****(Exaggerated Motion/Emotion)****
_Over Exaggerate_ The idea, Alrighty then, this is a 3 weeker, I think. I want all of you to think of a motion, or an emotion that seems to get over exaggerated every time. Ok, now animate it. This can be as simple as a big burp, a colon-cleansing fart, or just a sneeze. Use props if you need/want to. If you want, add music. Have fun with it. If you don’t have a character to animate, you can find one on the net(let us know you didn’t model it). One last thing, after the animation, let everyone know what it was you where aiming for. After, not before. _Rules_ - The due date is December 3rd, (three weeks from now) a Sunday 12 midnight (GMT). Voting will be on that following week. Post your final entries in the Final Entry Thread. - Minimum animation: your animation needs to have one (1) emotion, over exaggerated - - Recommended screen resolution in 320x240 (you can do 640x480 if you want, but why would you). - You can post W.I.P.s but you are only allowed one complete entry. That link is also final. You can and should post your wip’s to get help. - Websites where you post your finals is up to you. - Remember, it's about animation, use your time for animation, not to get the best render possible, unless you can afford it. - Use of plug-ins not allowed. Must be key framed (hand animated) - Try to use QuickTime. It will allow everyone to view your hard work, plus it gives everyone the chance to go through your animation frame by frame to see how you did what you did - You must post a render of some sort with your final entry post; also include a screen grab with key frames. - Voting will be as follows - - Vote on what best displays the emotion - First place (3) points Second place (2) points Third place (1) points Good luck! Thanks for unleashing this so quickly BiG ToE, I'm looking forward to getting started (my weekends are Wednesdays and Thursdays). There were a lot of great entries in the last competition, I'm anticipating some fun ones for this one too.

the way the idea thread is going Diabolos, you will want to hold on to him, for the next comp.
Another thing, why is he floating. I understand he is a bad guy, but when did he start ooozing bad vibes to the point that it made him fly. Or, is there a web holding him up that I just can't see. |

Fortunately, Maya tends to weight simple bodies pretty well by default (simple as in nothing sticking out all over the place), so you shouldn't have to mess with the weights all that much. See how the model moves after you skin it and tweak the weights after that. If you run into trouble, don't hesitate to post it here and someone can help you out.

I know a little bit of rigging (and quite enjoy it actually). If you need any help, send me a message/email and I can do my best to help.

Skinning is tedious but I like it. Takes some time to get to grips with, but you'll get there!
Interesting topic!

Long time listener. First time caller
Hello! After being gone for a few months, I came back and saw this challenge. I love the idea! and would love to join. I have only done speed model challenges before, so i bet this will be fun, having 3 weeks and all... One question tho. I dont have a model to use right now. Any suggestions on sites to find one? Thanks in advance KVachon |

alrighty then, I'm finishing up work on a character for a comp, after I rigg him, I will start animating.
So, who's coming with me. Don't worry, I'm not just gonna flip out, if no one shows up for this one. |
