Zharulje

Zharulja = Lightbulb in English. I live in an apartment building near the tram. Since there is much power fluctuation in power grid every time the tram goes by I had my share of burned out lightbulbs. One day I was eating some sausages when one of them blew out, and I thought to myself, "hm, great, another well roasted lightbulb ... with some bulbs on the side".
All modeled in 3DSMax in aproxx. 20 hours, rendered in Brazil R/S, rendering took about 200 hours (yes, two hundred, because of the bounces and the sampling), a little bit of noise added in Photoshop.

Great work I have a question although about the table cloth is it modelled because it looks that it has thickness

2Nippur: Everybody asks mi this . I have a 4400+ DualCore Athlon, 2 GB RAM, but the setting are really high. I've locked the GI to sample rate to get rid of the noise and bucket artifacts (I'v added it later in photoshop) that alone boosted render time x3.. I've also set AA ti 1/3 and boosted up the refraction rays fo the glass as well as the bounces to 2 to get some light beneath the objects.

2Cracadoo: Hvala majstore, Thnx man!

2ibrahim_gabr: No, it isn't modeled. I've specialized in advanced shader so i can achieve lots without modelling it. It is a Brazil Advanced shader with textures handcrafted in photoshop.

that is quite awesome

I love the extreme detail of light there. It is very impressive.

Very nice! The only thing that bothers me is the napkin. It looks like if you unfolded it, it would be a strange shape, not a square. Also the texturing looks kind of stretched on the corners.
The table cloth is beautiful!
