Talking 04 Acura NSX ~ Newbie

I know there are plenty of mistakes and lots of fine detail I need to fix, but for now im taking a break since its been a long somewhat dull project compared to doing full scenes which I find much more enoyable

I've only been doing 3d on my own for 2 months battling between LW and 3DX and Ive gone with 3DX because it has less crashes, else Id definately be using LW. Anyways, Hope you like my model here. So don't bash me come on :P

Weaknesses: Texturing; especially UVW Anything, Correct Lighting how I see fit :P

3ds Max 7, VRay, ~14hr. (Or maybe it was mental ray, whatever comes with 3dsmax)
04 Acura NSX

I like 3D Studio Max too, great choice

14 hrs?... I think your doing something wrong if the render took that long, unless you mean from creation, in which case, thats fine i think you did mean the latter actually, so ignore this sentence completly. If your still reading it now, just move on, please? >

It'll be Mental Ray, or the Scanline in that case.

With car models, you can avoid using UVW unwrapping mostly. With all my models so far, I haven't used Unwrap ONCE!

You'll get better as time passes, and you make more models. For starters, this car isn't bad at all.
Just don't lose help if it goes wrong. Keep working, and if your fed up, move onto something else and maybe come back to it. You'll find with each model you make, you learn something which will help you with the next.

At first though, like with anything, if you don't work on something for a long time, your going to lose a few things you learnt, so make sure you keep at it

Render quality/scene setup will come to you in time. I would learn how to make Clay renders first, either using Advanced Lighting - Light Tracer if using Scanline (standard), or if you using Mental Ray - Global Illumination.
Those really make renders stand out better than materialed renders when your modelling and want to show results.
