Hello everyone, im updating in an hour or so.This was a crazy day for me. I moddeled a tree that was in my mind and used reference photo's from the famous trees in india. I was satisfied and called it a day. Now in the morning i got up early and went to the forest. It took me 30 minuts bud i got there in time. It wasn't raining, only clouded, which is good for texture reference cause you don't have sun lightning bouncing on the trees. I walked for about an half hour in the forest and choose 3 trees as my photo reference. I took about 20 photo of every tree. From every angle, cause you need that later on in the progress. It started to rain, bud i was finished anywayz so i got home and started laying out the texture photo's i took.I used 14 different photo's of one tree and made a mapping for the tree. Its actually a unfolded texture face of the tree standing in the forest.

Now i fixed that, i had to unwrap my 3d model of the tree. This took me about 3 hours. It was alot of work and i had to stitch every thing to eachother. Pelt mapping doesn't work well enough for me with something like this.

So than displacement mapping came in again, which gives the tree a little bid more rough feeling. Well thats the story for today i think. Pictures will come along shortly.

Hi here is an update of the tree. It was alot of work, hope its something you like.
The texture isn't perfect bud the roots will be under the ground for some parts so, that won't be visible to camera.

All applied

Hi here is a small update. A 1280x720 quicktime 360 camera span of the tree.
So you can see that its totally 3D.No Compositing done, just rendered 200 frames. The jittering in the movie is because i put the samples down so it took me less time to render. sorry bout that.
Hope its something you like..

Click the link below and on the new page click the link to download the movie full size, than wait for 45sec enter the code and start the download.

Ill try to find a easier sharing server.... Here's the link

Man, you amaze me too...

I just love the way you work on projects...in a very original way with taking pictures and using real world references all the time...you place them just perfectly in your 3d projects...

Also I love the fact you are from Holland...don't know...just makes me a bit more inspired to see a fellow dutch man doing this stuff...Hope one day I will become as good as you are...

So, i thought about it for a while and i think i feel more for a indoor scene. I made some sketches and things i wanted in the scene, and this is going to be a indoor scene for me. So , what i have to change is the cobbled stone. This has to be more dirty, cause its very clean now. What im going to do with the fontain will be explained later on in the project. I went texture searching on my bike and with my photo camera and took some realy awsome textures of a wall. It was in the baddest neighbourhood in this area, im actually glad that i didn't got shot or something. I did got alot of question from very strange looking people, what i was doing, why i was taking photographs. I axplained i was a 3d moddeler, bud that wasn't something they understood i quess. In the next post i will post a wip of the texture wall. Its not perfectly applied yet, bud you can see the texture of the wall.....hope its something you like

Hi everyone, i wanted to update. Not really with something im planning to use in this scene, bud i did made it for the scene. This is not something i would't upload, bud i thought i would also share this things of the project that i go trough when making everything. Often i make textures from photo footage i made recently, or for other projects that are still in your library. If you make texture shots alot of the time, you start to build a library so you can use stuff from other projects too.

What i wanne show is one of the textures that i made for this project. Its actualy a texture for some rock dirt, or a roof ceiling, of perhaps a mountain in the background. When i make the texture map, i always make a sort of test scene in 3D , so you can see what happens. Also your bump mapping and displacement mapping can be quickly shown so you don't have to make renders with everything in it, that would take alot of your time.

So here is just another face that comes with the project, bud normally i don't show when making projects. Its more for yourself to see, bud so i thought. What i see, is also fun for the viewers to see. Hope you all think the same. Thanks for all comments and critz. Its all more than welcome. Thanks all
