Why do I have these stripes?
It is done in Maya. It is the default lambert material and edges all hard. Why do I have those stripes and how can I fix that?

i don't know maya that well but to me those look like artifacts in your shadows. i'm not sure but maybe try tweaking your shadow parameters in maya will help. i know in max if the bias is off or the sampling rate or size is off you will see artifacts that are similar to those.
good luck -k |

2 things to try that usually help fixing this:
turn on use Mid Dist Dmap for the shadowcasting light, or Increase the Dmap Bias (small amount) for the shadowcasting light good luck, greets iVo |
