January 2007 - Octopus

Please read the Instructions Guidelines and FAQ's for this challenge first.

Here we go with this months challenge which is designed to be fun, creative and not too intensive whilst giving best entrants prizes and great exposure in 3DCreative Magazine. The Schedules have slightly change but all of that is covered in the Guidelines and FAQ's.

This month we have gone underwater (we have been watching a lot of Blue Planet recently...) 'Octopus' of the Cephalopod Family.... Octopus's only though please ;-)

Here are a selection of Images from eyes to tentacles to give you some good references. The octopus is quite a commonly stylised creature so there will be a lot of thought needed for this one. Keep up the good work!

Dont start new threads, lets try this with 1 main thread only, so all design sketches, WIP's, feedback to go in this thread only, but! questions to go in this one Guidelines and FAQ's

Final Renders go in the Final renders thread which will be created later in the month ready for Voting.

I might actually make an entry

I did some sketching and I'm quite happy with the result.
Sorry for the horrible quality, but the scanner is dead..

Anyway, I'm going with this Ink selling octopus on a coralreef idea

Haha, copyright on that idea till this is over

oh man, i love underwater creatures. i really think that somewhere in ocean there must be a HUGE octopus in the bermuda triangle that really sucks those ships under.

since i recently got mudbox, ill most likely be giving this one a go!

I've worked on my squid model all day (till now, 7 hours)

It's the last day of my holyday...

But, here is a little taste of my octopus image

I got all that glow beacause it's under water

I hope all of you other guys will start "wip-ing" soon, I want to see more octopuses
