![]() Low Poly Mini Contest #12 Subject – Steam Punk VS Cyber Punk ALL WIPS AND CONCEPTS ARE TO BE KEPT IN THIS THREAD. Guide Lines: The battle between cyber punks and steam punks has gone on long enough; it’s time to end this war. Time for you to pick a side, Steam or Cyber. You need to decide which team you would like to be on, then think of the best way to depict the side you choose by modeling it. Keep in mind that this is a street fight between the two, so your model needs to be the best of the beset when it comes to fighting in the streets. This model must be a character; this includes humans, creatures, robots, and animals. Sorry no vehicles this time. The specs for this competition are more normal than the last one (4,500 total tris), it may sound like a lot, but ounce you start modeling wires, you will wish you had more. You get about 4 weeks, so do not try and over do it. I want people to finish. So start now. Above all, Have Fun! Judging: 3 categories of judging will apply. 10 points possible for each: Concept - How well your idea fits the topic Model – How well the geometry is structured, how well it looks like the subject. Texture – How well the texture space has been used, and how well the texture is painted/applied. DUE DATE: February 4th: a Sunday, 4 weeks and a few days from today! 12 (midnight) GMT - SUNDAY Idea: Time to be creative. You need to create the ultimate street fighter for your respective team (cyber punk / steam punk). This Is Your Version; there is no right or wrong, because it’s your version. Poly limit: 4,500 Tris Total. You can do whatever you want with these, just don’t get carried away and don’t exceed the 4,500 Tri Limit. Textures: (1) 1024 x 1024 texture. This means (1) 1024 for color, (1) 1024 for bump, (1) 1024 for normal, (1) 1024 opacity, so on and so forth. You can chop it up into whatever you want, but you still need to go all out in your texture. Textures can be hand-painted or you can use photographic sources. Do what you do. ALL MODELS MUST BE RIGGED AND POSED Final Pictures: Required In The Final Post (1 post per entry): - 1 x Winning pose shot. This image can only have "One" pose of your character. No multiple shots or different angles. Just one! - 1 x Beauty shot of your character. Feel free to put multiple angles of your character or just one big version or your character on this page. Even better, try to composite a nice art piece similar to the ones in the Winners' Gallery. Be careful how you do this though, simple is often better. It’s up to you. - 1 x wire frame shot of your character. Feel free to put multiple wire frame shots or just one big wire frame shot on this page. It is up to you. Must have polycount included. - 1 x texture sheet that includes all your used sheets squeezed into "one" sheet. - Concept Sheet (Only if you have a concept) You must provide a screen grab of your wire frame with your poly count, with the actual model and all its parts selected. Please don’t Photoshop your Poly counter with a bogus count. Make sure you post all work in progress, including final poly counts and wire frames in the work in progress thread. A Final Entry Thread will be up and waiting around the end of the third week/beginning of fourth week. Don’t forget to submit your work by posting it in the final thread. Good luck everyone! i didnt know it was going to be fighting based... hrmm perhaps i can tweak my concept a little to allow for this

I'd like to participate...but i really don'T have any clue what's the difference between a cyber and a steam punk ..well, looks like i've to spend some time and google it ..

Cool... I'm already thinking of some concepts, I'm even thinking of steamcyberpunk :P but I will wait to see what other people come up with before finalising my concept

ha, love the war idea. well comrades, heres my first concept, done in a few minutes. tell me if you think the shapes too organic. it's going to have a steam engine on the back, and i'm going to pimp it out with pipes and exhaust vents.

Evening.
while i would have liked to make a vehicle i think i can work with a character. I jokingly said in the poll thread that the only thing i could think of for a character was a steam powerd monkey man. The idea has since grown on me so i'm gonna get started on the concept. Good look everyone. ;0) |
