The Cave (again, with some changes...)

Hey everyone...

Well, this is a second render from a scene that I post some days ago, but now with some changes, like texture, lights... but now I've sent two renders, each one with a different angle.
Please send messages...

looking good. I suggest you work on the texturing, like add more coulor to it and a bit more and on the mist. It looks a bit grainy.

Particles?

Nice pic!

The tonal range is somewhat flat, you might consider having your lighting be muted in the background and sides with more focus on the main rocks.

Also, the particle system on the pillar rock is too regular: look at the top few particles and see how they all line up. Introduce some randomness to the velocity or start times in the generator.

Keep it up!

uh...like I said before...You need foliage..this is what I see this time:
some large cylindric vines with crude textures.
a big green/brown rock that tries to pass for moss on a rock.

I dont mean to be rude, just tellin it like it is
www.3dtotal.com has on one of its tutorial pages I think, how to add folliage, just a pic of like REAL FOLIAGE alpha mapped and then "draped" makes for a nice effect.
those vines are beastly, youneed to work them out, spend some time on them, dont just bend and twist them, take like 3 cylinders and intertwine them together, and then pullout some of the faces to show unravleing in some peices or something.
you NEED VEGETATION on the cliff side. and lots of it. Or maybe stalagtits or something. Why dont you visit a cave? on our field trip we did, and we passed by some rivers etc in the caves, and near them are like moss, little shurbs and bushes, wierd smelly things Unless someone visits this cave to clean it, I doubt it would like that.
I also think the waterfall needs some attention. Its very bright.really doestn look like a watefall to me, more like some mystical beam or something. Tone down the "sparks" add some MIST, and if it IS a waterfall, it should disturb, and heavily, the area in which it hits the water below, and a cloud of mist should be there.
Try adding maybe a little lizard or something to the scene. also if it is awaterfall, the entire enviorment of the cave should be moist, try uping the specular level or somethingon the walls, try to achieve a "wet" feeling.

On the rocks, do the folliage, a basic map like what you have is good, just now it needs some detailing with accessories. try adding some grass, (shagfur) or do them by scattering technique. you also dont want to see soooo many edges, you can see where you altered and moved it. go look at a rock, you see edges, but there are a lot, and then there actually smoother than yours.

ok thats all I am good for right now, hope to see some updates.

Nem angle , changes too...

Hey.. thanx LockDown, I'll work on that some more time...
Now there's two more angles from the same scene, but now I'll change the water fall, I turn off the bright, and add more drops to it..... what do you think.

ok..*ouch* wiht the lights..YOU have to even admit it doesnt look good wiht the lights off. I thikn what the problem is, is that you are using a partical sys. so all you have is little droplets...thats not what a waterfall is. A waterfall is a river that is falling of a cliff in short terms. that means, you needs WATER not just water droplets. those water droplets you have acting as the wf will be good for like just water spewing off of it. again you need to add all those things I said.

I think right now, sit down, and draw a bunch of scenes up, pick ONE and do it, stop changing the camera angle, and go wiht one.
