Bumbi - Dominance War

Hello again. I usually just hang out at animate.se, a small swedish forum but for htis competition I'll join you guys. I've been here before on the Boxx contest but did not reach the finish line.

I can't promise anything for this competition either (have a lot of graw2-stuff to do at the same time), but I'd give it a serious try.

Concept sketch here, description will follow:

Looks pretty neat to me looks like it was designed by a human though =/ medieval knight styles.

Black Wolf: A very true observation (could be because I designed it ) - seriously, I'll see what I can do about it, I think it's mostly because of the helmet slits, maybe a new head could change that. But I'm not that against a knight look either, as it makes you relate to his profession (melee+shield).

Well, i don't think being "stylized" like this is bad, it's more original in fact. Maybe machines wouldn't build themselves according to medieval knights, but who knows, it's not like we have sentient machine armies running around today

I like the design, particularly the spear, it manages the whole stylized tech look very well, and looks like something that can do a lot of damage.

im designing mine in such a way as humans would find it intimadating... the way i see it the robots would design the robots as either totally efficicent (which may not make for the best design) or they would build things that created an impression for a psychological advantage.. it makes sense to me they would wish to exploit a "flesh" weakness

Yes, that's right Maio. Way i figure, the machines would mix both, they would probably make it as efficient as possible, while trying to give it some sort of psychological edge to affect the organic entities.

It's absolutely meant to be an intimidating weapon. The shield is able to withstand exteme damage and/but generates enormous heat incineratiing organic matter around him so stealth is really not an option so instead this is a weapon to cause fear and terror in enemy ranks.

Imagine seeing on the horizon a white soldier movind steadily towards you, leaving a black path of burning vegetation after him. No matter what you throw at him he steadily keeps his pace and with his spear cleaves trough defense barriers and thick armor like a warm knife through butter.

I know I would feel like Sarah Connor in Terminator when it rises up from the wreck of the tanker.

I have some new ideas for the head. If i'll go fully medieval I think a more open helmet will look better. Thanks for all the input.

New head concept

Thinking of changing lower body as well. Centaurish (would work nice with spear) or spider/scorpion maybe. Or maybe just bent backwards.
