Character Practise: Simmy SparkleCraft

Hey dudes

I have started a new character and his name is Simmy SparkleCraft. He is an old gnome and a mage/technician. Because I got many reply’s about my bad anmatomy and bad shading I decided to use this head( which I at first thought as finished) as an practise so that I could use the comment that is given on this head to create a bether head.

I enhanced the visbility of the anatomy again, but NOT the proportions. Only the nose and eyes are quit big, but hey, he is a gnome after all.

Also I added some new shading techniques I just learned but I still think lot’s of hours could be spend at practising shading.

The left side is the anatomy drawing and the right side is the shaded side. I also del;eted the hard lines I previous made with a marker. The problem is that if you make your contours hard the shading wil not blend with the rest. On the other hand, it is very hard to model this face because you don’t know exactly were the lines are . I still have to work this out.

BTW, do you guys think that this head looks just like the others, if yes, then say so.

Please give good and harsh C&C so that I will get bether and return the favor

I mean no offense but whenever I see your drawings I think they all look the same.If you didnt give them different names etc then I would not know the difference between them. So yes, I think this does look like the others.Im not saying this is a bad drawing, because it is good but I think you should changed some of the aspects of the facial features a bit to differentiate them a bit. good job though

Hey BlackRobe

I understand you're point of view, but drawing a different charcter with no hair and enhanced visibility of the anatomy is very difficult, so they look the very much the same. Still i have to work a great deal on that.
