Dhin - Dominance War II

23.Feb.2007 -Modeling now. . .

Character Idea -
They created us. Our purpose was simple, concise, and without ambiguity. They left us, discarded, but not without purpose still. They mistakenly thought to disconnect us was to sever us from the purpose.

When the Mother awoke us we where given awareness of the scope of our purpose. Newborns in concept only. For we where and always have been, our purpose is unchanged and so we too have not changed. We are not malfunctioned, broken, or without use. We are Machines.

All must accept our purpose for they gave it to us. We will cleans the planets of them, for it is their wish. When the Mother awoke us she sent the Shadows first to scout, spy, assassinate, and destroy in the name of purification. The biological life that claims our creations credit, can claim us their greatest achievement for we will not fail our purpose. We will not stop the purification they intended us to preform until all are extinct.

Concept Art -
Snipper-Assassin Shadow Concept: (Spider)

It is amazing what a full nights sleep will do for perspective. I went to bed thinking I had a good start on this but when I woke up I realized I was just making the typical human, and trying to make it look robotic. I want to do something more twisted, more industrial machine meets animal instinct.

I keep thinking I should take like Jeep parts and other "low-tech" analog stuff and fuse it with bodies. Twisted metal and meat in one hulking mass of manic pain and death. But then I end up with something that looks too similar to "Virus" (the movie about the electrical life form that infests a Russian Missile factory type boat, and used people as spare parts.) I just don't wanna go that way either. War Hammer 40k has some good points of inspiration as well as Animie and Menga but that is just to stereotyped and over done. SO I'm almost at a loss.

My mind how ever keeps returning to the stealthy, silent killer. The one that quietly stalks its prey, waiting until the right moment to ambush it. Light and agile yet monstrously strong and resilient. Spiders always come to mind as I think about this. There is a sinister elegance to them and this is what I want. Something that would be a ghost story told in there trenches of the enemy, that no one believes until seconds later when they see this sinister shape hovering above them before everything goes black.

Spider Snipper-Assassin Concept:

I'm keeping the guns for the previous concept. I may rework the sniper rifle some though.

Which head the Skull or Face?

I really like this concept over the others, especially the half skull head. I total see this black with Tron Style glowing areas. Good stuff Alan...

I gotta say I am liking your idea very much. Thought about doing a spider myself but settled on a humanoid concept. Your's has a very nice feel to it though, the whole "death awaits you kinda vibe" can't wait to see the model. Keep going!

Thanks Guys. I should have something to show from my mesh in a day or so.

I spent last night working on the torso, tonight I work on the arms and legs. . .

*throaty growl in Predator fashion*

Ya it is a hybrid grat-snipper riffle. With a machine using it, this gun can fire 100 round in 10 seconds. . . that equals 10 kills per second for this guy at long range. Its sidearm is a mid-ranged high caliber sub-auto hand gun, recoil isn't an issue cause it can auto-stabilizes with each shot. His legs and arms are used in short range attacks. He uses his strength along with the razor edges on the tips of each leg for slashing and piercing. Each leg also contains a secondary knife segment that can be used like a scissor to cut though most anything. . . trees and veg; wired, hull and conduits; bodies. . . defiantly designed to be a killer this one. It also has eye spots and sensors covering the body, so it can "see" in a full 360 degree using ultrasonics, thermal, IR, white spectrum, and possibly more type of vision simultaneously.

Nice start... I kind of think you should do a longer neck and a more elongated skull like in your drawing but this works too.

I like the direction you're heading into. I also love the skull idea (I'm using one as well). I would suggest more support holding up the head than just the neck part(hidrolic parts?). It just seem fragile and weak and can be easily broken by an direct attack to the head.

Your design is coming together nicely, but keep in mind the fuctionality of everything. As robots/machines are always funtional in structure first and formost.

Fight on!!!!

Totally agree with redonix, this latest design is the best one, looks cool! I love skulls, the one on the concept does look more "unconventional" than the one you modelled. I think it would look better if it looked more similar to the concept.

Either way, good work!
