Maya, smooth vertice's normal after reverse a face's normal
Hi guys, hope some experienced maya expert can help me a bit.
After i reverse normal on a few polygons and reverse them back but then they are not smooth or blend together nicely with their surrounding polygons. I tried a few actions couldn't figure out how to get things all blend smooth together. I just cannot reset those vertice's normal to their default position. I think you need to soften the normals.
In Maya 7, select the polys then goto Edit Polygon/Normals and use Soften/Harden. In Maya 8, select the outside edges of the polys then goto Normals/Soften Edge. Hope this helps. |
