eva mapping tutorial help

first, im pretty new to this, so ill admit that i dont know alot about working in 3ds max in general. in the eva mapping tutorials, there are often times that he will select groups of polygons already made, like inner eye pieces and inner mouth pieces, and im having alot of trouble figuring out how to get those polygons selected. i dont know if you can somehow hide the outer layer of polygons so you can get to the inner ones easier or what. how would you guys go about this, and remember, im a newbie

Hello There,
Ok well you can hide polygons in order to better select those hidden behind pieces of geometry. First select the poly's that obstruct those you wish to select and then scroll down in the modifier stack to the Edit Geometry tab and click on Hide Selected. When you have finished your selections etc then click on Unhide All and everything will re-appear as if by magic !
