That is really neat man. You captured the drawing and threw it into the 3d world with expert results. You probably could optimize the sides of his body a little bit. The dark center of his mouth could be done with your texture maps. It looks like right were his head meets his body you have a super thin something. You probably could get by with out it.
What are you plans for this little guy? Portfolio? or is he bound for a game?

Looks pretty good to me also. You definitely captured the image in 3D.

Thx guys, and yes dark bob that mouth thing is indeed a bit messy, I'll fix it.
I'm not going to make a game, but I will make a interactive environment with him. The arms, head, eyes and claw mechanism will be controllebale in their movement. Maybe I'll make an interactive box of blocks or something. |

At first i thought that the drawing was a cartoonshaded image of the model.
Very accurate modelling i must say.

Thx Jared, I want the model to have a kind of cartoony feeling, so your not that far off extually. I've textured him now with 1 512x512, 2 256x256 and 1 128 texture.
I'm absolutely not a texture wizard, but then again this wasn't a particulair difficult texture job. Pls C&C on the red "1". Is it cute, or weird? I don't really know what to think of it. Also any other C&C is welcom |

If it's supposed to be cartoony then the 1 would be big and bold instead of being so small. Nice model aside from that, though 4 texture maps seems a little excessive.

yeah man, just give your objects colors instead of bitmaps. Just use the bitmaps when you want things like the 1 on the front.
Much easier and faster! The model looks good though, really looks like the drawing! He looks confused and 'out there' to me. When he's finished, can you do an animation of him bumping into things and stuff falling on him? That would be really funny! ![]()

Yes he will hoover and I tried to animate him, but thats real hard since his body is one massive object. I'll post some animation soon though. And as for the texturing your right. I'm going to trow away most of it, I'll only keep the microphone/loudspeaker mouth. Such a shame because the uvw's were great

I wouldn't dump the UV map if you have already made one - you might need them at a later date should you decide to do things like render out lightmaps. If you lay out your uv's with ecomomy in mind, you could probably get away with quite a small texture space for this guy - probably 256x256.

OK i got 3 animations, still with the old texture maps, but I increased the amount of poly's in the eye caps. Hope you like em, especially you synkro

hihihi
nice animations! The model looks really clean now. now the crits: You should work a bit more on the timing in the first one. Wobbly eyes: there's a weird shading effect when he turns his head. Bump: that's is! Now you're doing it! Good timing, nice animation! Maybe increase the overall speed of the animation. I can't wait to see more
