My first Complete Post

Be gentle, lol.

I will admit that the shadows are spotty, and I have since fixed that problem but I'm posting from work so maybe I'll update that much later

You may want to fix the tiling on the wood. That stands out to me first. Can you post a higher res version so I can see the details better?

Are you using VRay? The carpet looks like VRay Displacement. Nothing looks really 'bad', it's just that the scene itself isn't very inviting.
