Nintendo DS Lite(WIP)

Haven't been posting much of late and have missed a few challenges , mainly due to finding a flat and finishing uni for the year. In which both have been a success .

Anyway this is the latest thing i've been working on when i had time. The back is the one that needs the most work atm and there are some slight changes to do on the front. Also both of the back covers are the same because they are a clone the bottom shall be altered soon. Anyway C&C comments Welcome.

the screens look kinda small to me.
I have no idea if this is the right size, I have the 'old' version of the DS.

Played with the back a little, added the cart section and got rid of the logo. I also added the battery area and put the screw holes in. I tryed to put the stylis area it was a bit ackward so i shall go back to that later.

Nearly finished now though .

Small little update. Speaker, volume control, power button and the power lights.

Just got to do the stylis area, gba catridge area and some small changes then on to texturing.

Hey, Shinix!

This is looking good! I only have a few pointers. It looks like you have modelled the buttons directly onto the "base mesh." Modelling the buttons separately could be advantageous and make texturing, shading and animation more easy. By doing this you would also be able to straighten out and simplify the edgeloops i the base mesh. Some minor corrections could also be done to the details (placement of the skrews ect, size of the "headset-slot" ect.) I also made a picture with some things that are missing, other than the things you have announced before.

Best Wishes,
Antievo.

Posting refrence images is never a bad idéa.
It will make it more easy for people to help you out!
Hope you don't mind - I took some quick refrence images for you

Also, what software are you using?
People might have some techniques you want to know of

Thanks for the comments and pics Antievo-3D, i'm using 3dsmax at the moment.

Refrence pics are always good i decided to model from my own ds since it was hard to find them from all the angels, thanks.

Alot of our the things ds's are the same although i'm modeling the black version which seems slighty more streamline on the back such; as the battery lid sticking out and the screw holes seem alot larger on your verson. also the the speaker area looks alot diffrenet with the silver bit.

I have done a little of what you said such as the screws on the battery lid and i have made the buttons on the catridge area.I agree on the lid curve haven't got that to curve right think i need another edge.

Aha! Man, I was wrong - sorry! I think your are modelling the regular NintendoDS.
I forgot that I have the newer version called "NintendoDS Lite." My bad!
Well, this looks good - and I am looking forward to seeing it completed

EDIT:
Or, not? (Checked title again)
Confused. Lol. Are there different versions of the Lite version?

Another little update sorted a few little errors and finished off all the modeling. Basically down to small changes and texturing/rendering. Here's a little of what i've done below, Back soon to follow.
