Realism without HDRI
I just don't understand, even with the isolated light source pass it still doesn't look as good as HDRI.

The only other way I would even think that would looks somewhat as good as a HDRI is by having a scene with fully textured objects surrounding it and making sure the lighting and rendering is as close to realism as possible. Hopefully the light bounces/shading would make the object you’re focused on come alive, but yes it's just simpler with a HDRI.

Your scene looks flooded and awash with light. Consider getting rid of GI or FG to reduce the amount of light in the scene. I bet a little color would also give it an edge! Splash a multi-sub object material on those walls and make that image zesty! Remember: realism is a combination of modeling, lighting, rendering, and materials!

Yeah thats pretty good.
I use HDR, and find it limits me, since I use Vray, and just place one in the map channel. I find though that an object I'm rendering only looks good from one spot, so since its in a map, I have to rotate the object, not the camera. It can get annoying sometimes. The only way around it is to model an entire scene like Sip said, for instance a room to render in, etc, even if it was set to invisible by camera.

l I can see in my images for example this one, the HDRI version looks more "real" than the cg one.... cause I work with Cg scenes all the time, I want to know how can I make cg-made scenes more "real", cause I only rely on HDRI for outdoor lighting than interior lighting.
I think it's the isolation of the light object but make the scene unlit by the cg-light...... |

A few lighted planes will give the illusion of windows, and coloured walls on that box will bounce more light around, creating a depth effect that matches what real rooms would do.
I also tend to place boxes and spheres with different colours around it, and then hide it from camera. This would simulate objects in a room. Still, its nice for studio renders.
