Well , I was modeling this pencil sharpener for fun. Some stuff to fix like the reflection etc. But i need to know how to make little bumps on the black part. Unfortunately, i couldn't find any pictures of the one i was doing; so i drew a little sketch below, and I drew a top view to show you how the bumps are like... Well, i hope you understand my drawing. So i would really like to know how i can make the bumps. I have a couple of ways that i can think of, but i am wondering if there is a modifier or somehting that can do that for me....
thanx alot ![]()

Insanity at its best.

apply a cyclidrical bump map on it would be one way. With a bump map that looks like "|||||||||" or create some fading inbetween the lines so it looks more like humps than stair like things. Or you could model them, which takes a lot more time.

or you can just (in max) use the STAR, and increase the amount of points to it, that works a lot easier.
