Hi All, here is a update of the floor. I Am currently working on the floor. Its not 100% Done, but its going pretty good. I Like it. What i did is paint alot of reference photo's together, bud i wanted to paint something from other ship decks inside of it. The rusted plate is from another ship. Some parts are copied, but the plate is so big.So i had to create the wood so that it looks like it was always there. im not using the whole piece.I Also made a fun shot with the vase, just to see how it feels. And it gave me a good feeling so, im happy working further with the project. Hope y;all like it too.

Hi All, I have to say im sorry that i cannot update as many times as i wanted to. But my girlfriend was in the hospital the last three days and i had my mind on something else than the project at the time. She is back home now and i am typing this from her home. So that is where i was in the last few days.Yesterday i got some ideas for the project.

I think of making the room aboard of a ship. So you could see the outside walking strip of the ship and perhaps a little bit of the sea and some seaqulls perhaps. I wanne put some good window placing in it also, so you get a very interesting lightin from the sun on the inside of the room. Also ive got alot of reference material for a fishing net texture. So i can create a fishing net that is laying on top of the table together with the floating balls. ( that orange oval looking things that keep the top of the net floating ). Im guessing it will be alot of work to create this, but im going to try. Perhaps i can make some changes here and there, so that the room isn't totally rusted away.I also got some textures for the creation of small fishes. I Hope it all adds up together and i can make a confinsing scene in the end. Hope this is something usefull for you all. Commentz allways welcome.

First of all, i want to say that i started working on the project again. I still don't have alot of time but im trying to get some pictures for you. Im started with searchin for the right light setting for the room.

I Moddeled a whole side wall structure with 5 different small windows and a door, but when everything was done, it did not gave me the feeling i wanted to have with the scene. I see alot of light in the room, and that you can look outside and see some activity their from birds or something.I also want to create a bird that picks up a small fish from the table.

Ill see if i can realise that, it could be great. What i did is try something simple. Create a big window and a small door space and when i rendered it. I just said to myself, yes all the grey objects look like nothing , but the lightin is how i want it to be. Its good to have the setting that im looking for so i can start to create the glass and the wall textures and ofcourse the higher resolution version of the objects.

Allright, i hope this new renders give you all something more to think about and perhaps to comment about. There is alot to be done, thats for sure. Here are the new wips. Thank you

Tonight i started working on a rope. Its actually an object without the " wow " factor. I tried to create a displacement map to get the rounded look from a rope and that kind of worked. So know i have to figure out a good mapping. Im not qiet satisfied with what i have know, although it actualy came from a rope i found near the ships.

I Have to continue tommorow, have a good night and hope this update is still good...

looks good.
However the displacement for the rope is incorrect.
Rope is actually braided, like an over-under design.
Instead of a simple diagonal displacement map,an "X"shaped map may be required.

actually I just checked google image.
Nylon rope is like your design and hemp rope[an older type of rope] is more braided.
You can actually make a decent rope with two helix shapes.
It might be easier than trying to make a map.
But you seem like the type that likes a challange

just did a sample with 3 helix and path deform.
Very easy and not too poly intensive.
Might be something to look into.
