Talking Smart Roadster Coupe w/Guns...

Well here is my latest project. this is my second car to ever make. I plan to put things like gatling gins and rockets all over this car. Maybe some Nitro Boosters in the back.

Right now this is just rough model. I haven't made any of the details yet I am just working on the shape right now.

Good start so far!
You got pretty much of the basic shape already, good work! Are you using blueprints or just ref. images? It looks like there are some minor differences, but I guess it´s just some tweaking...
Keep it up!

Haha, I thought the reference was your render, and I was going to say it was one of the best renders I've ever seen...

Nice car though, I kinda like it.

Good luck!

Nice. I like the model so far, are you going for low poly? Even if that's true, I think you could reduce the number of N-gons and tri's. Overall, nice work so far, love the idea.

Forgot to mention, what kind of car is that?

Sorry I haven't posted... I almost gave up :P I hate modeling cars! it is so difficult.
But strattus I am using blueprints and kind of pulling ideas from other versions of this car I am kind ending up with a cross from all 3...
Thanks Kage!
But I am not going for low poly and as for the Ngons and Tris. There is not anything over 4 sided and I think there are only a few triangles... As for the ones you are seeing they are actually 4 sided but just shaped like a Triangle :P

Update

Nice progress, but...around the doorhandle, aren't those five-sided? Also the fender bulge on the hood, I think it could be reworked a bit. Looks good though.

Render ??? I've seen no render in this thread so far.

Can you post an up-to-date unsmoothed render ? I would also appreciate a clay render to help tracking bumps or pinches, if any.

Nice work so far, this car is not so often modeled. Keep us updated.

Sorry guys but this just hasn't been messed with in about 6 months... bleh

I hated this model anyways. It was so far off from the references it just wasn't worth continuing. I am going to start another project soon though.

Still working on what it will be :P

Aaw.. I think that is weak, Jeremiah. weak.

I think it looked good! nice flow, nice curves, a li'l fixin', and you'd be right on track again.

?? I thought I saw my thread here... >.>

There was no rendering involved. The first picture is just a picture of the car and the rest are screenshots.

Robbert - heh yeah I think after I finish my Mario project I will work on a car. I will still use the same idea with the guns and all, but I will be making my car because I actually will have the reference in front of me! That one will be a 2001 Toyota Celica - Silver

Thumbs up Hey I Made the Smart Roadster...

I started modeling about 2,5 months ago.

I modeled a Smart Roadster Coupe (and a Brabus version) in Cinema 4D. They are very high detailed. The ones I show you are already low poly. No Ngons are used. It still a clay model so the model doesn't have texture, lights etc. yet. Now I start to make the normal version. Which has just an enginecover (because in this car the engine is in the back) and a spoiler behind the rollbar. The interior will be made lateron...

Don't be to hard on me. It's my first model in 3D ever.

This car is also used in a book as a tutorial file.
