Question Brazil betetr then scanline render???

Well tested out a glass with brazil for this scene i am making. Turns out, after 18 hours and 50 minutes this is all I got (IT'S NOT EVEN FINISHED!!!). My actual render was done at 1280 X 960 res., but I obviously won't put it here at that resolution (for the dialup users)..... Well take a look at what i got so far, after 18h 50min.... When, if i would render something like this with the default max scanline render it would only take like 10 minutes.... Of course you get better results with brazil then with max but I don't think it is sopposed to take this long to render a small thing like this.

Help please????

Thanx

I did this image at 1280 x 960. took 4 min 18 sec. What are your settings? Excuse the image quality, I messed up while saving and saved over my render. At a low quality.

Jenn: it could be helpful to mention the correct forums each time you tell people they're posting in wrong places.

Should his post be in general CG instead?

ok as no one seems to help this guy...cause he has toooo many brazil questions all the time....

why dont you read the TUTORIALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go to splutterfish and READ THEM! or go to my website and download all the brazil tuts if you dont have them, thats why I put them up, for people like you! So many people wanted them, I uploaded them, and people still complain they dont know how to do stuff thats IN the tutorials!!!!

D/l it off my website first, then we'll talk.
www.breezeland.com/~abudhu
click tutorials
Right click SAVE AS
(seems the server is laggin a little)...

Brazil glass does take long!
LOOK!
http://www.breezeland.com/~abudhu/BrazilGlass.png

thats my glass made with the tutorial. took 28 MIN!!!! thats long for me.

Possible problems: your computer slow...that would screw you up. You have totally wrong settings for the glass.

Like I said d/l the tut and get back here when you figure itout.

Just out of curiosity, because I don't use Brazil
Why are the buckets rendered in such a weird order?

Well by default the buckets are centered out. Usually when you want render you have the focal item somwhere in the middle and this enables u to see a preview of, say the lights for example, more quickly. You can change this to other options and bucket sizes !

exactly...and just cause I hate how it goes from the center and spirals out, I always select top to bottom and size 128

NOW question....how do i KEEP those settings, everytime i do a new scene or whatever it resets, I HATE that....how can i make it to keep the same settings? I know there is a SAVE settings, butthen you always have to load it, and thats dumb since i just want to change those two things for every render.

Send a message via ICQ to Kit
I think I remember reading about the possibility of changing that on a .ini somwhere.....not sure though
