Maya - Animations..

I've have a rather large experience in raw animation, but when it comes to reproducing a very realistic, rendered animation filled with effects, lightings, and all that jazz, I'm as good as lost. I'm curious to know if any Maya Wizards out there would be willing to help me. Animating isn't so much my problem as figuring out how to "render" it decently.
