hey, first timer

hey guys, first time here. i was looking for 3D forums, and bumped into this one. as far as 3d goes, i've mastered swift3d, and now i have max(my dad's work gave him a cd to learn, he never did, so i yonked it). well...here is my first image with it:

I remember doing this tutorial with the cave and water and all.
I think it is that tutorial. or am i wrong.
Either way the water could use a better texture. It's just the standard texture from max now, right?

yup its from a tutorial. the texture was actually supplied by the guy doing the tutorial...so its not the basic max ones.

actually, that IS the tutorial i used. but oh well, i dont think i'll be fixing it, its just so i can learn some 3ds max. i've got the bible and everything, i read like 300 pages, then quit it. just developing from online tutorials now

Yea I remember this tut...simple way of doing it but heck it works. Nice to see more learners and u have surley come to the right place for it. Be sure to check out Software Help Threads. Jenn-3DT just started a Q&A thread for Max users where people can drop in their best tips and tricks. And u got nice tutorials on the main site. This forum is very old...I don't know how old exactly but its old.
