Maya - Exporting specific object

Hi
Im wondering how it was possible to export one objects (or a group of specific objects) from one scene to another.
I have a living room scene but I just want to export a chair (along with its materials, textures, etc.) to another studio rendering scene so I can render the chair alone.
It is possible to do that ? I tried to go in the destination scene and 'import' but it import the entire scene with all the settings and lights and all...

Eeeeh Export selection

Right under Export in the File menu
If you want you can look in the options first
