PS3 or 360?! Going nuts here!

Newsflash: not all 360s blow up. It's not something you should weigh it up with the ps3 when you decide what to buy. Some consoles have been farked up but since 99% of gamers are fanboys and spend too much energy on "proving" to others why their console is the best. The whole 360 will blow up your house and give your 3rd degree burns on your penis thing is really just over-hyped.

Josiah: Why do you always copy the text of posts? Is that humorous to you? Just curious as to why you do that? Anyway... I should state that I didn't laugh because of what happened to the guy... I think what happened was messed up. I laughed so badly because of his reactions... I just think the guy is hilarious! Personally, if I had to replace a system more than twice... I'd return the defective product, get my money back, and invest in something else.

As for your videos... *yawn* Yeah... a PS3 froze... until they restarted it which you saw by the end of the video... and yeah... someone got a bad system which glitched their Resistance game.... again... sucks... but not a big deal when compared with the multitude of 360 owners whose systems died on them. Honestly, I don't wish that upon anyone ever!

As for your sarcasm... heh... you do make me laugh, I'll give you that. Google is a search engine... nothing more. Until I see someone hook up both systems to the same HDTV with the same cables and the same settings... all the pictures in the world mean nothing to me. That's what we proved earlier with our PS3 vs. 360 pics... absolutely nothing. We're all graphics guys here and all know the power of Photoshop.

Oh... and my PS3 isn't golden... it's Black with a nice Chrome trim.

Hehe. Lol, I know. The 360 had the wrong coolant when it first came out. It was too bad really. Atleast they are replacing them fast and for free. But it is still a pain. I won't lie.

And by sound of what you like, I would have to agree that you personally would like the ps3 more. If you don't care about some of the things that we have pointed out, then that is probably the console for you.

I personally couldn't switch for purely Halo 3 it's self. But, if you don't care about Halo, and if Bioshock really does come over for the ps3. Then you would be more than happy.

It's all good though. But honestly, if you are really going to the military, than you might want to consider a nice laptop. If you got a really nice one, you could play Crysis, and Gears of War (coming out soon for PC)

That's just my personal 2 cents worth for you.

I just LOVE console wars. They are so entertaining for me. I just wish that I had enough money to buy a ps3 and a wii, so I could be less biased when I talked. (like knut)

I didn't say all of 360's blow up,now did I? Like only 90% of 'em...And you know,I don't want to take a risk hoping that I could be in 10% of those lucky people that still enjoy their first Xbox 360...
And this IS something I should weight up with the PS3.How can I not damn it? But If some rumble in a joystick is more important,then yeah,the whole "red ring of fire" thing is not a big deal at all...I just want to be sure that my 360's controller fits perfectly in my hands...That's what I should weight up with the PS3.

You are entitled to believe whatever you want and spend your money thereafter, but saying 90% of the 360 give the red ring is stupid even if exaggerating. I heard about a guy whose PS3 burned up on release date, but I guess you don't believe that
As for the controller, it doesn't matter if it rumbles or not as long as it's better to hold it. And I'd rather hold a cactus than the ps3 controller cause it's sh*t. Take that from a non-biased both systems fanboy =P

And I can believe in that story about the guy whose PS3 burned down on the first day.I never said that PS3 was such a beast that it could serve you for eternity. I just want you to accept the fact that PS3 is a much more reliable system than XBox 360 (at least at the moment).

And about the controller,like I said - I don't care.I don't have anything to compare it with so it would feel just fine.

Anyways,I just wanted to know something about those cables. What's the difference between HDMI to DVI cable (or is it the other way around?) and just HDMI? I could only find HDMI here and only for PS3 and something like this for the 360 http://www.andrico.ee/pood/product_i...50/language/en If HDMI will work just fine with a monitor that has HDMI port,how do I set up the audio? It's just that I've read some stuff and it turned out that most of the people are using those HDMI to DVI cables...

In the case of the red ring... what i think bothers me more than the old systems doing it... is the fact that even the new Elite 360s have been doing it as well! Now there's no excuse for that... Microsoft has been dealing with the ring issue for long enough that the Elite shouldn't have this problem. So even if I had thought of picking up a 360... seeing the problem still existing after all this time is enough of a deterrent for me.

Now for the HDMI question. I have a simple 6 foot HDMI cable. I think most people use the HDMI to DVI because they are hooking up their systems to a computer monitor that uses DVI but lacks an HDMI port. Since I have my PS3 attached to my HDTV, I just use the HDMI cable. If you have an HDMI port on your monitor, the HDMI to DVI is unnecessary.

For audio, I use the Digital Out (Optical) port of my PS3 going to the Digital In (Optical) of my Home Theater system. But you can either use the HDMI for audio, the Digital Out (Optical), or the AV Multi connector that comes with the system. Then in your PS3 settings... you can tell it what ports you're using.
