Yeah actually I haven't tried it since before I downloaded the firmware updates. As for the site, I'll show you when I find it it's pretty handy if they actually update it.
On another hand, I finished Super Stardust HD today woo! The reward? Hard mode. =D |

So here's something I'd like you console players to tell me. I'm a veteran PC gamer, and I've only ever played like 20 minutes on an Xbox360, and that's it.
What's so great about console gaming? What makes you buy them instead of sticking to PC? And how the hell do you play a FPS with that controller? I'd really like to hear your thoughts on this, cause I'm curious. Also I keep reading about how great Metal Gear Solid the series is. Allright. What makes it so? Why is it worthy of legend? I'll probably never play it, until it's available on PC, so... Still a while to go.

Ok... well one of the biggest issues for console gamers is simply the fact that we know the games are going to work right out of the box when we buy them. I know I mentioned it before, but it's a simple fact. Buy a game for your system, put it in, and play. That's it. The other reason would simply be the sheer choice of games available to console systems. The same can be said for PC, but some games just control so much easier with a controller in your hand. That brings us to the next point. FPS games. Although they do take some getting used to, they can be played with a controller. Although I can not speak for the 360 controller since I've probably made it clear enough that I'm a Sony/Nintendo fanboy. But with 1 stick for movement and strafing, and the other for looking around... it's not as hard as it may seem. Plus some games even give you a little aim assisting as well... although most gamers don't use it if they have a choice to uncheck it in an options menu. Now with Sony's Sixaxis controls and Nintendo's Wii remote with motion sensing... FPS games are getting even easier to control. Now, to cover your question on the Metal Gear Solid series. Wow... where do I begin? The first attraction to the games would definitely be the story. MGS has some of the most interesting character development ever seen in a Tactical Espionage Action game. The story follows some very true events in world history, and incorporates it into the game story so well... you'd think it really happened! Then there's the gameplay. It's centered around the premise of Stealth. The better you are at not being seen, the easier of a time you will have. You can actually go through the whole game without killing any enemies. (Not counting Boss battles where a kill would be unavoidable.) Of course, you could just go around killing everyone in sight as well... it just depends on your style. From diving somersaults, hanging off ledges, using disguises, bullets that destroy things in the environment, smoke that reveals lasers, footprints you leave behind from being wet, enemies that know you're there if they see your shadow, I can go on and on listing features from all 3 MGS games... it's just very immersive. Next would be the cut scenes. My goodness the game has such a cinematic style of story telling it's ridiculous. The musical score just brings so much more emotion to an already emotional story, it can really make you think you're watching a movie. The score is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams who composed music for movies like Enemy of the State, Armageddon, and The Rock! I hope that answers some of your questions. Although you may not be able to play them all on PC... you can play the first one. http://www2.shopping.com/xPO-Metal-Gear-Solid Check it out if you get a chance.

Sheesh, slow down you guys.Haven't checked the thread for a couple of days and there are 3 more pages already :P
Okay, about the PC and upgrades.I only have a laptop with an integrated and very crappy Intel video card.So it would be easier for me to buy a new one PC rather than upgrading the laptop...And even though I'm dealing with 3D almost everyday (modeling you know... ),I'd rather buy a game console. The reason is quite simple:I never seemed to have a good machine to play all those great games.I'm a bit tired of this and now just want to get myself something cheaper than a super great gaming machine but at the same time that will allow me to play all the new games in all their glory... Anyways, thanks to Marty's persuasion here,I was about to order myself a PS3 (even though I would've need extra 20$ for that :P ),but then I found out that the very Play.com,where I found that nice monitor and a reasonable price for PS3, doesn't support any deliveries to Estonia...$%&*(... Really pisses me off.I hate this country!!! Hmmm there's one site that delivers everything and everywhere, though, but I somehow don't trust it...I'm talking of eBay.Never bought anything form there so I'm a bit scared of the fact that I might screw up :\ Don't know...Right now I really don't know what to do...

Holy sheisse, just downloaded the Heavenly Sword demo and god damn it was awesome. It's the shortest 1gb I've experienced in my entire life though.

Aleks: Lol... yeah... we kind of ran away with the battle while you were gone.
I've gotten a few things from EBay without any troubles. You just have to be careful about the person you're bidding from. Check their feedback and see if they're a reliable seller. There's also a lot of guides for fraud protection, and EBay does what they can to help because they don't want anyone getting screwed over, it's bad for business. Also check to make sure what version of the system you're getting. You can find Japanese, American, and European systems. My last bit of advise would be to stay away from the 20GB version. It doesn't have IEEE 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, or the SD/CF/MS Pro Duo card readers. The 60GB system is the way to go. ![]() Good Luck with getting the system dude. If I could, I would buy the system and ship it to you... but I lack the funds to do that right now. Knut: Yeah... that Heavenly Sword demo is great isn't it? From what I've read, it's an early version of the game and the full version will look even better! Too bad it was so short though... when those guys came busting through the door... I had my can of Whoop-Ass™ open and ready!!! Oh... and I like being 14 years old... or at least acting like it anyway. ![]()

Oops...I missed that part,Aleks...
![]() @h2k1:GTA 4 and Assasin's Creed are for both X360 and PS3.With the mention that X360 will have exclusive episodic content for GTA 4.So all the add-ons and expansions packs will go to the Xbox owners And no offence but i think that Gears of War,Bioshock,Fable 2,Postal 3 and Halo 3 are much better than any PS3 game...Only Grand Turismo and Final Fantasy seem to be interesting games out of that list. But no flaming intended, everybody has it's own tastes ![]()
