Speed Painting Challenge no. 66 is here. starts now and ends on the 1st of September, Saturday, 2007.

Topic: Life under sea.

a lot to think about and paint. u can go for killer sharks, octopus, beautiful starfish or other colorful species. personaly i think it would be great to have some plantation added as well. a dramatic scene with some nice light from above would be great to have too. but its all upto u to go ahead with your own ideas...

all rules stay the same. u got time till the 1st of Sept. 2007. so start painting and posting.

This is the first time i have joined one of the competitions but i watch them almost every month. This sounds like a fun and interesting topic and i hope i can try to do soemthing cool for it.

I wasn't good with the matte painting comp(well done to those guys)

Maybe straight up painting is more me

The main idea was to see from the eyes of exstrimal-diver...Air in baloons almost at the end and sharks feel it...
This took me almost 2 hours at all (Painter and Photoshop)

This topic was fun. I used to want to be a marine biologist so the topic is right up my alley. There are so many different scenes that could be rendered, but I chose the kelp beds because I've always thought they were like the sequoia forest of the deep. Used Painter and completed in about 3 hours.

my first attempt, i realised afterwards, did not have that much life in so i updated it.......this will be my official entry

oh there are some good entries.......i like the lighting in them .well done
