how to load front and side view image planes in Maya?

hey

i am pretty new to maya and been using the online tutorials on how to use it . i am currently trying load my front and side view drawing as image plane but i am having alot of difficulty in doin so.

the drawing are scanned and ready but i cant find out how to load them as planes .

can somone help me ?

what menu or buttons do i go to in order to load them as planes ?

can someone help me with step by step instructions ?

it's pretty easy!

Do the following:

-make sure the view where you want the image plane to be loaded is selected.
-in the left top corner of your view, go to: view,-> image plane, -> import image.
-you'll get a window where you can select your image and set the right parameters!

that's all!

note: to make it easier: if you have for instance a front and side image for image planes, make sure you don't zoom in and out in these viewports before you've loaded the images. this way they'll be the exact same size in both ports.

this is in 4.5.
I'm not sure, but it could be that 4.0 doesn't have the imageplane tab directly in the view dropdown menu. If it doesn't, then go to the view tab as well, but go to 'camera attribute editor and there you'll have a tab named image plane!
