September 2007 - Amrit Seecharan - Dramatic Sunset

Well let me start this one off. Its an amazing challenge and thanks to Chrisp-3DT for getting things operational. I had always played around the idea of a barren wasteland frozen in time. I decided to try out somewhere with water and see how that would play out.

Seems a good composition to start with I would cut a little from the right part to position the sun more towards the right third. Go to a color sketch, that would help more establish the elements of the scene.

good sketch. I'd experiment moving the horizon line down so the sky filled 2/3 of the picture, instead of half-half as it is now.
Really nice idea with the planets.

Thanks for the critiqe.

Suirebit-3DT: I was still playing around with the composition and how much mountain I should add.

Alletun: Yeah, I noticed it when I posted. Right now I'm juggling my final year thesis. Will work on it in a while.

Oh in this project, I'm working from scratch. Zero references and no stock. All brain matter. If I should implode during the process, well I guess that would suck. lol

I want to see a color version, too. It's hard to gauge anything right now.

still too centered IMO...i would shift it to the right a bit and make a visual path from bottom left to top right.

the concept can turn out good, you just need to improve the composition. But if you have something else in mind..well...keep us updated

Thanks. Yeah normally I would feel ansty about abandoning a piece, but this one is taking so long that I decided the hell with it. Besides, I think i can possibly do something better. Who knows?

Thanks again.
