3dsmax 8 missing sub-ojects (i.e. vertices)

I must have hit another key on the keyboard accidentally. I can no longer see my vertices or edges etc...

Can you tell me the stupid key I hit?

THANKS!

Max has a stupid key? I need one of those... You press it whenever you do something stupid and it takes it away...
I've had the vertices disappear- but never the edges. Try going into vertex mode and hitting Alt+I. Did you hide the edges (F4)?
If that doesn't work can we see a screen shot? Can you see the edges when you're out of editable poly?
