Next Gen Rhino Warrior

This is probably my next "Never Ending WIP"...

Anyway, I've got some time for personal work this week, so I've decided to enjoy it
Started this guy, he is some sort of gladiator but I'm still not sure what sort of weapon I'm going to give him.

Still very WIP.

Hopefully I'll be able to finish him soon and start the low poly model.

Hope you like it!

well, first let me say, the ball sack is great. Ok, now for the weapon, for some reason I see him holding a huge axe, but at the same time, it could be a small axe, full length around the size of his arm. Either way, he has an axe in his hands, and I am not trying to take it from him.

Thanks Big Toe! Suggestion accepted! I wasn't thinking about axes, but it's actually a very nice suggestion, it really fits him. Thank you.

Hope you like it

Thanks man!

I'll definitely accept good crits and suggestions, as Big Toe's comment about the axe. If you have any idea you would like to share, be my guest

Looking very cool man, loved the armor and major details(i ment his balls). I think the rhino scale needs more roughness and definition, the human part of it looks cool, loved his arms and his back. Also watch out for the nose horn, his a bit odd cause it looks like and extension of the skin and not one horn that pops out from his skull.

Thanks man! You are right, I need to work the body folds better.

About the horns, well, that's actually not correct, Rhino's horns dont pop out from the skull, they are made the same way our finger nails are made. They really come out from the skin and are not attached to any bone.

You can see some info about it here http://www.thewildones.org/Conflict/rhino.html

Thanks!

the axe is great, it fits his style perfectly. He looks like he could/would be more of a guard than a warrior. When I look at him, I see a long line of people trying to get into a club and that guy is standing in front of the door, axe in hand saying, clubs full, go home.

on a side note, the sack looks even better now, with the folds and wrinkles and stuff. Not that I'm a expert on sacks, I'm just saying.

HAHAHAHAHA, you sack freak!

Thanks man

You know, using an axe as weapon and after you said he looks like a guard it came to me an image that somehow, in a twisted way, has some similarity with this character... Or maybe it is just me having some Star Wars subconscious flashes but now I look at thim and I see a Gammorrian Guard, from Jabba the Hut's palace... Remember those creatures? http://www.razorsedgecollectibles.co...ard%20Bust.jpg

Anyway, the way I see him as a warrior is not as a crazy for blood War Lord or something like that, but as someone that is truly much stronger than his enemies and is just bored to need to go to the batle from time to time just to remind his opponents that he still has the balls (and the sack! :P ) hahaha

Very nice indeed! I'd really like to see your workflow in ZB3, you seem to know your way around it very well, good attention to detail!

Would love to see a tut or a ZBscript!

Can't wait to see that finished man!

This looks amazing! His hands and arms... well all of him really, conveys power. And I agree. I think the ax was a great choice for this guy.

My only crit is about his belt. (I'm not sure what else to call it, so I'll call it a belt.) It doesn't seem to be separate from his body on the top. As it stands, it looks like the belt is a part of him. Maybe define it's edges a little more on that top part.

Have you made the low poly version yet?

Thanks a lot guys!

Evilknight - Man, I really dont have any special workflow in ZB. I just start from a simple base mesh done in Max and start to give the volumes, folds, details etc.
I'll post the base mesh later so you may check it out.
Thank you!

Wintermute - That belt was just a place holder, I never meant to keep it as it was. I have started a new one. Not finished yet, hope you like it better. Thanks.

Defaultalias - Thanks man!!!

Here is the update. Hope you like it.
