Hi Billabong/Warin,

Thanks for your messages.

I'm a little confused as to what's happened to be honest as I've just downloaded all issues related to the June 2007 issue of 3DCreative (high-res, low-res and 'lite' issues), and none of the covers seem to have the '3D objects in 2D backgrounds' tutorial written on them, so I'm not quite sure what's happened.

Did you download the magazine back in June, or have you recently purchased it? If you downloaded it back in June, for example if you were one of the first people to pick up the issue, then it could be that the 3DCreative team had to re-upload the magazine after you purchased it, and in which case the cover may have been changed after you originally downloaded it. This is the only explanation I can think of for this strange occurence.

If you have any further questions or problems with or about 3DCreative magazines, please don't hesitate to contact me directly at: lynette@3dtotal.com, where I will be able to help you further.

Thanks for your patience and please accept our apologies for the confusion caused.

Kind regards,

Lynette - 3DTotal

Yeha I had dl'ed it while back, can't remember which month it was, But i was just browsing the back issues yesterday and noticed that that the cover(the one with Spider man in black) on it and the bottom that tutorial is listed but its not on mine. Its not that big of a deal, If by chance I have missed the edition of this issue with that tutorial in it, I will be glad to purchase it again. I just want to make sure its in there before I do. Thanks again

Brandon

Hi, me again

Thanks Billibong for your patience and Lynette for investigating this

Billibong and Lynette, what I can think of at the moment is it might be a case that '3D objects in 2D backgrounds' tutorial was just originally planed to add in June Issue, so then I wrote it in the Magazine CM (not mark yellow) so the layout artists wrote this down in the cover.

After 20th September, maybe an artist who was supposed to send all materials didn't hit the deadline which means we automatically cancled this article and (maybe?) forgot to inform layout artists/delete it out from the cover? Maybe? Our mistake?

Lynette, I'm not in the office at the moment, when you have chance can you please check with CM the name of artist and check which month it's supposed to be in the magazine for me? If I know who he/she is, I might talk with this artist on MSN and I'll investigate from this point, thanks in advance

Billibong, let we check this first and if ;
Option 1) we forgot to delete it out from the cover (as I'm suspecting above) - I have to deeply apology for this (silly) mistake...indeed
Option 2) but if this article's included in June issue, but you haven't received it with some reason - we will send you a link to download just this article for free, you no need to re-purchase the whole issue again!

From now, let's see when Lynette get back to me

Finally, sorry again for this problem and thanks for your understanding

Thanks again to both of you

Regards,
Warin G

Hi Warin/Billabong,

As i mentioned in my email above, i think it was a case that the magazine was uploaded with the wrong cover on it originally, as perhaps the designers forgot to remove the particular tutorial in question from the cover. the fact that the covers are now different, and correct, when you download the magazines, means that the designers had to re-upload the magazine - most likely to fix the error on the cover page. it seems however that you must have unfortunately downloaded the magazine before our team noticed and were able to correct the mistake, so i do sincerely apologise for this confusion and inconvenience.

warin, i have checked your content scheduled from May through to September 2007, and I cannot see any tutorials called '3D objects in 2D backgrounds' scheduled for 3DCreative. From the notes that you left me however, the '3D objects in 2D backgrounds' tutorial has Rich's name by it. I have just spoken with Rich in the office and he tells me that he did create this tutorial but for 2DArtist Magazine, as it was intended as a 2D tutorial, even though it involves 3D as well. I'm therefore guessing warin that you mistakenly scheduled it for 3DCreative, and the change at the last minute with the content resulted in the wrong cover. i hope that makes sense!

Billabong, I can confirm that a 3-part tutorial was written by Richard Tilbury for 2DArtist Magazine, called "Using 3D as a starting point for a Digital Painting", which involved putting 3D objects into 2D backgrounds. This tutorial spans the July, August and September issues of 2DArtist magazine, and the back issues can be found here: www.2dartistmag.com/issues.htm.

I hope this has cleared things up for you both! Any other questions at all Billabong, please don't hesitate to contact me directly at lynette@3dtotal.com.

Best wishes,

Lynette - 3dt
