When i read this weeks topic, i instantly thought of Star Wars and 300, but didn´t dare to try on of them. L3XICON and Psycho Mantis: you both did an amazing job and seeing your models, i´m glad i didn´t try. Awesome!!!
EF_: i really like your bucket idea. Keep it up.
Cheers

Ahah mimi01, that rocks!
Everybody, great work so far.
Here's my first... It's a sort of space helmet thing with antenas... and it's orange.
C&C welcome, or I'll cry.
Ugga!

Hi! Fantastic works so far This is great topic. My turn now

I think there is a little explanation is needed. This is helmet of an SS soldier. Some people could feel offended because I used SS symbol. I used SS helmet and SS symbol, not because I like them, but because I think everyone knows it and it's recognizable. I hope nobody will be offended.

Modeling time: 35 min
Creating texture: 15 min
Mapping: 5 min
Rendering time: over 20 min
I Used 3ds max + VRay

Classic Gamer - 3D Threedy New SMC #015 "Watch Your Head" Helmets Entry #02

Fantastic entries so far, really great.

Here's my 2nd entry, the strange mesh on the front view of the helmet has overlapped that why it looks strange, it was a little bit tricky to get this right, it's mean't to be a bike helmet, but I didn't model the strap on it either, i'm gonna leave it even though i've got the time left for now, but I enjoyed making it.

Kind Regards

Classic Gamer

wow nice topic i like it. gonna then participate in this challange as well.

@Classic Game: nice bicycle helmet. from the side it' look like a bug tough
ure police helmet is cool - as i have seen ure past works there all good - i like this helmet for some reason a lot.

@Wart: we are in the army now, well that helment didn't at least protect against a bullet nice clean modelling.

@DaddyDoom: Amazing idea, luv the space helmet. I see a human inpersonating a bee who would wear that helmet.

@mimi01: nice, bob the builder that's what ure helmet reminds me.just put mixy and the other guys from the series to it.

@Psycho Mantis: spartan helmet - looks really good , tough is the image sometimes a little to dark.

@EF_: hehe a bucket- nice - that would be my helmet if i ever have to go to war. i also like ure underwater helemt looks heavy though. i think u can take that underwater helmet and build a nice underwater scene with it, add some fish or underwater plants. i bet if would look good.

@L3XICON: Star wars ey. trooper helmet looks good. you did a good job there. i like ure first helmet a lot, reminds me of old knight movies/gladiatior movies.

cool entries so far!

i like the shader on the first entry from lex, looks spot on for stainless sheet metal

i like the "alien-bug" helmet from daddydoom

i decided that my own project deserved more time than 60 minutes, so i posted it in WIP-section here
if you care to see it anyway.

no shortage of ideas though, so more to follow.

EF_ lol nice idera with the bucket!

Psycho Mantis I was also looking forward to the first of the spartan helmets really well modelled mate, and like the aged bronze shader too!

mimi01 really like your style mate! beautiful render and great modelling, especially like the plastic 'frame' inside the hat too, could have easily been forgotten or left out, and hidden in the renders, but really finishes it off for you! great work.

Daddydoom "It's a sort of space helmet thing with antenas... and it's orange" lol, it sure is ;p really nice render and great design and idea, my favourite so far.. even though its orange

WarT was going to do a german helmet myself, but ya beat me too it! so I decided to go all american instead (see below). great clean modelling, and like the bullet hole to add detail

CG nice bike helmet mate, i'm with bgen, it looks kinda bug like ;p really like the glossy plastic shader you've used, and as always superb modelling

and thanks everyone for the comments on my previous two entries! and here's a third. With a German helmet already done, I thought I'd have a blast at a modern day american helmet. (although i spent more time on the darn ciggarette packet than on the helmet ;p)

Classic Gamer - 3D Threedy New SMC #015 "Watch Your Head" Helmets Entry #03

My 3rd entry here, going for the battleworn Soldier's Helmet, it's not in the same league as the other World War Helmets but I like the look of mine also.

Cheers
