maya renderer
The standard renderer in maya 4.2 isnt that great (not without an absolute age setting up lights etc..) Has anyone got a cool scrpt/plugin that produces a different rendered effect (not toon) something with a soft feel would be great.
At the minute i'm using a lightdome to get a faked radiosity/brazill style effect - its okay but not very good for cartoon stuff. Any help or advice would be top - cheers |

funny you said that you're looking for something softer, i always thought the maya renderer was too soft, it seems that it can't make anything really crisp. but that could just be what i've seen. good luck.

may have what you’re looking for, but here is an image to see if its what you want.
![]() That’s cell shaded materials with the GI set up given to my by the greatbigphil. Ah its also low poly 406 faces. I'm working on it for UT2k3. Here is an image without cell shading. ![]() If that is what you’re looking for just drop me a PM and tell me where to email it too.
