We'll have to see, it looks really interesting and I haven't entered a contest before, won't have much to do either.

This challenge is awesome,
First off I thought what would be considered an abstract dragon, cause there are loads of dragons that are eating people or used by scantily clad women or big men with swords as mounts etc... So i thought what if dragons aren't all giant, what if they were tiny, like fingernail small, so i played around with that idea. I figured to show the size it would need to be on an object that gave the viewer perspective, eg a hand. I couldnt be bothered with modeling a hand so I thought some more and this is what I came up with:

a dragon the size of a butterfly with butterfly wings!
so I started modeling it tonight and this is what I have come up with so far:

The basic shape of the dragon I have used the nether drake from world of warcraft to give me a rough idea but i will be changing a lot of it later, i just really wanted to render off a picture with butterfly wings.

MunkyButt> you're making me thinking 'oh yes....why??'
BTW Good start so far, what software is used? are you going to model the wings as well as the body?

Good start and good luck!

grafixsuz - This ones great! And very funny IMO! Really looking forward for this one.

Noviski - as always really great concept from you too.

Hopefully will find some time this time and try something by myself too. Sounds very interesting indeed!
