January 2008 - Tero - Summer to Winter
Hi,
This is my first matte painting ever. I've always wanted to do one but never actually got to do it. Better late than never, eh ![]() Still quite a WIP, I haven't touched the trees yet, they scare the crap out of me. And I don't like the ice too much either but let see how this turns out. C&C are welcome and good luck to everybody! ![]()

Concepting ideas
Hi,
I started to think about the overall image more and decided to do smaller sketches to see how my ideas for the environment works. This is one of the ideas. ![]() I searched for reference from my hard drive and found 2 nice images from Dylan Cole (which is also my favourite matte painter) which I then mixed and added the original plate elements into it. Even when it's rushed up in few minutes, I think this shows pretty well the idea what I had originally in mind. Now I need your input whether to start doing this in full size (and of course replace the Dylan's pictures with my own) and comments about if this is alterated too much from the original plate for the contest. I do have few other ideas in mind, but this is what I personally like the most, so I haven't yet sketched them.
