Character: Andreasman
Title: Andreasman
Software: Maya Project goal: Character design and animation Inspiration: My classmate Andreas That should pretty much sum it up =) I'm done with the modeling, rigging and skinning, and now remains the process of animating the guy. Also the renders are pure one light mental ray stuff so nothing fancy at the moment, they might appear very bright on some screens. I just thought I'd upload some pictures before I get into the animation process. PS: The last 3 pictures were rendered before I had finished all the controllers and stuff so there are some areas, namely the foot and helmet straps, where it's not as good as I it is now but at least it's something. I'll post updates tomorrow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers ^^ |

Geez, those are some inflated nipples
![]() Amazing rig set. I hope to get as near this one day. I'm still trying to figure the basics of it...

Awesome! I saw you doodling with this at idefagskolen, when I was visiting. You're the max guy I talked to
Wish I knew how to do these kinds of rigs. The character design is really good aswell. Don't digg the nipples though =P

Thanks guys ^^
@DaddyDoom: I spent about 3 days making an IK-FK arm rig where I had one rig for the FK, one rig for the IK, one for the "real" which I skinned the model to and then made a switch that seamlessly moved it from the IK to the FK rig, but it broke down on me and left me 3 days behind on schedual :\ I'm donna do it again some day though, hopefully soon, and figure out what I did wrong. It's a pretty awesome concept when it works. Today I finised the dynamics for the straps on the helmet as well as added the remaining controllers for the eyes and tweaked the foot a bit more. It should be done now, due for the animation is tomorrow but I haven't even started animating it. But I should be fine, I'll just have ask for a delay ;f @HansKa: Oh yeah I remember you ^^ I usually whine about how Max is so much better at everything to mess with the teaches but Maya isn't that bad really. Especially not for the rigging part, in fact it's pretty awesome once you get the hang of it. They need to do something with the modeling and skinning tool though >_<. I'm sure I told you that 15 times already =P I hope I didn't appear grumpy, I had been battling Maya for a while and was pretty much sick of it at the time being, but if you need the extra push to decide whether or not you wanna attend the school I'll hand it to right now =) It's pretty much god stemning all around although sometimes you might ask if it's worth the cash, but I think it's worth it in the end. Especially if you've been stuck on the moving on from modeling part which I have for a few years. Rigging is a lot of fun. Not so much the animation part though -_- And for the love of Pete someone do something with the skinning tools right now. Eh, I'll stop repeating myself ;f Alright, another render which might seem completely the same as the previous ones, only behind all the fancy mental ray default lighting the stuff is actually finished. ![]() ![]() Flex those muzzles! And if you don't like the nipples I guess I did a good job =P Here's a screengrab from maya: http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...roth/maya1.jpg I'll be back in 15 years when the animation is done ![]() Last edited by Knut; 03-02-2008 at 07:40 PM.. |

Nice style to that one. I think the facial expression is great, too. Though I'd work a little more on the textures......even if meant to be cartoony, they're a little flat and washed out. Maybe it's the lighting? But yeah the style is dope. I especially like his boobs hanging out the sides. : )

Yeah I agree the textures, or materials, are a bit boring, and I decided to go with the standard mental ray physical sun and sky because I don't have time to work on it. The due was yesterday and my computer has been working all night with rendering the first walk cycle sequence. I'm aiming for a Colin's Bear Animation spoof

*chuckles*
Nice work. Could use some more weight to the animation, but very good. I'd like to see you do more with him. |
