Reactor seriously!
Reactor for max is really cool and I adore it's posibilities... but. Can anyone tell me, how to combine reactor simulation (rope) with animated object on the scene (charactrers hand)...
question is how to force one end of the rope, to follow the hand! I can't figure it out myself.... |

use the attachtoRB modifier. u should set the object u want to attach tne rope to as RB. Another way migh be to select only the portion that should behave like a rope (ie: if a whip, select everything but the handle portion) and apply rope and then link it to the object but this works only if the whole object is moving.

Tell my why!?!
It's hopeless... please help! I've done everything as you said and it's not working anyway...
First try: I create a Sphere, create a Line and add a 'reactor Rope' modifier to the rope. Next I create two helper objects... one is RBCollection (where I assing the Sphere) and second is RPCollection (where I assign the rope). [as far everythink is cool.. the Sphere stays in it's position a the rope is falling down]. I animate the Sphere by simply moving it around and the simulation is well done again. Next I assign the reactor AttachToRB modifier to the rope, and set the Sphere as a Rigid Body.. I perform simulation and the Sphere is still flying around but the Rope doesn,t move at all.... Second try: I add a SplineSelect to the Line, celect everything but the handle of the 'whip' as you said, and then I link it to my animated Sphere... My rope is in the simulation but it doesn't follow the Spere! WHERE AM I WRONG!! AAAAAAAAaaaa.. It's driveing my crazy men! HELP! ![]() |
