Part time male
So, if anyone here remembers me, you may know how I lose drive and tend to not finish work, or get to where I model a body as well. Anyway, I've been working the past couple of days on this face. I hope I get to modeling a body for it as well. Not a huge amount of time put into it yet, just an hour here and there.

Looks like an excellent start, beautiful control over your edge loops, and great overall form. The nostril does seem a little large, but I could be wrong. Keep up the fantastic work.

Yeah, the actual hole itself seems large to me as well, I'll get that worked out though. I'm working on the ear right now on the modeling side though pretty basic stuff, won't take long to get it finished as the hardes part of it is done so far.
My problem right now is trying to get the SSS fast skin material to work how I'm wanting it to. I know if I have the model at a smaller scale the shader works better, but the scale adjustment in the material settings is supposed to fix that, correct? It seems that if I make some of the settings a more realistic thinner SSS, it freaks out and make some odd decisions on what needs to be going on. The thing is, this only happens when I have scatter indirect illumination on. It's also the same if I have the screen layers turned on or off (I leave it on, looks better). Any help would be nice. It's also doing it if I use the original Fast skin sss setting just with scale and scatter indirect settings changed to be correct. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Is that textured, or purely using the fast SSS?

Purely fast SSS. I found out a work around, and what it was that was causing it. I thought I had but apparently do not have service pack 1 installed, which fixes this problem, from the descriptions I've read. It has to to with FG point interpolation. I just set up my own settings for radius interpolation, which is making it look tons better. I also remade my skin material. I'm pretty sure I'm going to add a bit more going down on the chest at least, if I don't do the rest of the body, which is a habit of mine. On to texturing (soon)!

Looking a lot like him allready, I think that the eyebrows could be a bit sharper in form.

Heh, yeah, the eyebrows were WAY too soft, I fixed those up pretty quickly though. Here's what I've got on the texture so far, it's my first time making one! this is basically a pass to get shape and color good, as I'm working from very low resolution images and upscaling them. It'll have detail once it's done though. ![]() |

Hey that's not bad. Except I wouldn't go around telling people that you're only a male 'part-time'.

Well, I finally have the first stage of the texture done. Now to go through and fix it all up, and paint away!

Well, I decided to go on and try to model the rest of the body, so here's what I've got so far. Proportions are quite a bit off, but I'm just trying to get the shape at this point, I can fix some things later.

I like what you have so far, but as of now I think the proportions on your chest might be off. Though it is kinda early to tell.

The proportions on the chest were definately way off, but the info was there. Here's some more stuff on it that I did today, going pretty slowly.
