has them big as mellons!

Tnx for the comments guys
The tank was actually quite a simple one. Since I figured out the way I would do the tracks, it was just necessary to do one and then replicate/relocate for the others. The main body was built out of a cube.I have an idea for a last one, let's see if I can do it :P I kinda missed being a part of these challenges ehehe. Ugga! DD

Classic Gamer - Rev It Up Entry #03
Well I got the chance to have another stab at modelling an RC car, there's a huge amount of elements wrong on this model, but it's actually modelled from a toy Audi TT, so it's natural that it wouldn't be much different for an RC version of it. I added a larger "real world" style counterpart to try and give it some kind of perspective of size etc. Those that know me a little better, can probably guess that i'm a big fan of Audi cars having modelled the RSQ, Q7 & now that TT, I'd really like to have a stab at the Audi Quattro from UK BBC series Ashes To Ashes that's currently airing here in the uk at the moment, it's a really cool iconic 80's car.
As always the symmetry object was my friend for this entry, I kinda like the DOF on this, even though I used the DOF quite heavily. The materials are still a work in progress but they'll do for this entry. The the wheels, tires, alloys, bolts, brake discs, headlights base, front audi logo, logo backing & car windows are all modelled separatly due to the timeframe to model the car, and as such aren't included in the wireframe screen grabs. I hope to be able to submit at least another entry before the deadline tommorow. All other information is on the composite attatched. Kind Regards Classic Gamer

![]() Classic - that Audi is awe inspiring - I don't know how you do it - you truly are a speedy master - even discounting the wheels etc - simply brilliant!! - would you mind posting an .obj file of the model so I can examine how you've made it? or is that being cheeky !!? b3ta. |

ClassicGamer - Wow! I would love to be able to model that car period, never mind in 84 minutes. I'll second the plea for the unsmoothed mesh in obj format. I use blender, but I try to learn a lot from reading max tutorials. However, there are tools in max that I just don't have in blender. I try to learn from other peoples meshes, but when they export to obj they are usually smoothed so I can never see how their original mesh was. If you don't want to post it publicly, I would really appreciate it if you would email it to me: jsnake at gmail.com
Well, thanks in advance, and if you decide not to share the model, it still looks great... congrats! |

b3ta - That BMW is stunning though! love the detailing and that's a really gorgeous render
![]() OK guys, those that wanted an OBJ version of my RC Audi TT is at the link below, it's an unsmoothed mesh aswell, there's no headlights, windows, wheels or RC control aerial on the mesh, everything but the RC aerial was modelled after, and the aerial used a bend deformer, so I wasn't sure if that would export correctly or not so I left it out. Please excuse the labelling of the mesh parts, when they were in Cinema 4D they looked ok, but once they were exported the names got extended in the null tree.
