Oh, I'm trying that.

BTW, I changed the wire frame in my entry.

Some fantastic entries already!
I'd like to see as many entries in this challenge as there was when I started a couple years ago. Maybe if entries of this quality continues, the challenge can make it to the front page like many of the old challenges...?

I've been doing some sketches and will hopefully get one for tonight after I finish my work. I wonder if I'll have the first nitro car

You read my mind, I have been considering it yes, but not sure yet, i'll have to have a few test goes

Here's what i've got after 40 mins, anyone know what i'm trying to make here?

I'll give you a clue, the side artwork will have text that reads, New York, Paris & Peckham

After 40 min's i've only got this far and i'm having to model this from various small I might add photo's, i've not found any blueprints as such either.

Anyway, i've been modelling this one on and off and making sure I keep a close eye on the time too, i've got another clear 50 mins left with this entry, I just hope I can pull it off. Although you can probably tell there's some nasty creases in my geometry particularly at the rear can section just before the rear wheel arch, but it would take too long to correct them so they'll probably have to be left in for time limitations remaining.

Kind Regards

Classic Gamer

I don't have the faintest idea of how to create a car, I tried to model one at one point but all the vertices(that the right term for the points around polygons? Been a few months since I've tried to model anything) confused the hell out of me. I might be able to pull off something very cartoony.

RoboPencil - Here's what I do, for instance the way I wanted to create the front hood of the van above your post, I started out with a primitive cube roughly the same size as it is above, I made sure I had about 4 segments on the Z axis and 2 segments along the Y axis, then I made the cube editable and removed one side of the split cube on the Y axis and placed the remaining cube into a symmetry object, then I went into points mode and shifted a few points around on the side view until I got a curve of the hood roughly how I wanted it, then I shifted to the front side and curved that section slightly aswell, then I placed the symmetrical cube into a Hypernurbs null, which is a mesh smooth and then in about 10 mins moved the points around again in points mode to get it slightly better. For the rear cab I created a polygon object, and again moved points around to get a very very basic shape, then once i've got it how I want it I start to make knife cuts here and there and tweak, tweak and tweak some more, and that's my progress above after 40 mins of tweaking. Although mine has taken longer because i've not got any blueprints or high res reference pictures to work from, it's best to get some blueprints then you can get it correct in half the time.

It's all about creating something that you're comfortable with, and also it's about having fun, which is the main ingredient for modelling I think.

See what you come up with, providing that you start from scratch everytime you can keep practicing making the same model over and over again until you get it done at a speed that suits you

Kind Regards

Classic Gamer

Thanks for the help Classic, my head is having trouble making sense of it all, but I'll read it again. I guess it doesn't exactly matter if I can't create a decent looking car the first time. It's the experience I gain from the attempt. Thanks again.

Ok, I decided to restart with modeling the car body so this is what I got:

@Classic gamer: What kind of texture did you use for the windows of your WIP?
