Hi guys and gals !
This is my latest creation, its still in progress. It’s based on my fears of my childhood, for example I was always freaked out my Mushrooms and washer/dryers (weird i know). Im still in the middle of modeling, but I hope to be finished modeling it in a few weeks. Then i’ll be texturing it and rendering it out in Multi Passes, i’ll also be making a matte painting for the background. I’ll be posting minor updates about every other day or so. http://img.skitch.com/20080322-88bag...q7urhbx1fx.jpg ![]()

so I'm thinking that your going to go something about that logic defiing washer. looks like it's going to fall over and roll down the hill.
"watch out there is a washer roling down the hill!" "oh no" "Ahh" I think I'm afraid of washers to now...

Cool idea. When I was a kid I was scared of those giant wooden spools that they wind telephone wire on... So I guess I can't say anything about your fear of washers. Although, as a person who doesn't have a washer/dryer in my apt. and I have to go to the laundromat, I'd say you'd be more justified in being afraid of not having one.
Maybe since your image will be a somewhat surreal one, you should looks to artists like Salvador Dali or Rene Magritte for inspiration. |

hello again !
@ I’ll be tweaking a lot of things now, since the main parts of my scene are blocked out. The minor changes i’ve made are the nails on the deck and door. I deleted the second planet and shifted the washer over to the far left. I plan to have the door of the washer open (maybe). The image below show my planes for the next week or so. Creating the pipes under the washer, making a candy cane for a chimney (because as a kid i was afraid of santa, true story lol). I also have plans to put windows into the mushroom. Fix the door on the house and mushroom, and add hinges to the door. ![]()

hi all !
minor update. Add a “temporary” pipe under the washer for now, i will be add a lot more detail to it just wanted to block it out. I also added a small sign on the second island/planet, i’m gonna put “Keep out” on the sign (he he). I also added a small window on the large Mushroom. ![]()

hello !
This time around i’ve added more pipes to the Washer, and created a third island/planet in the back. The red marks represent more stuff im gonna add. If anyone has suggestions on anymore “details” I should add please feel free express them ! ![]()

I like the idea, behind this scene
![]() and beside that, the scene is modeled pretty neat! The only thing odd is the shadow(?) under the hut of the big Mushroom! |

thanks for all the comments.
Question: I found like to insert a matte painting in the background (sky), but I was wondering which is the best way to put into my scene. Would i insert the image when im putting my renders together in photoshop or do i insert the painting in 3D max, like the image attached below. ![]()

quick update:
I've moved a few things around, this is not the final composition. I'll be moving the Tree house down a bit more and scale down in size the Washer and probably move it to the right. ![]()

Dude this is a cool idea, i love it, can't say i was ever afraid of washers but hey, every one has something right? ... personally i like the previous layout better, to me everything seem too lined up now ... before it had a sort of simplistic chaos kinda thing going which was working well for the image
