Textures/ Materials

This may seem like a silly question to people that know how to use these programs but to me its quite important so please leave your reply.

I want to know if you can use a material or texture from the downloads on this site for any CG program. In particular can I use any of the materials or textures on Caligari Truespace 5?

Thanks for any help!

Bitmap images can be used in any 3D software for texturing, usually through channels, or layers that compounds a material.

In 3D world exists mainly two kind of maps:
-bitmaps images.
and -procedural maps.

With that you can simulate any real surface.
These are basics for 3D, so I advice you to read the soft help, and get some tutorials about it.

bye.
